LA Consulting performed a study of public works operations in Volusia County (FL) that included Road & Bridges, Traffic Engineering, Mosquito and Vegetation Control, Water and Utility Operations, Solid Waste, and Stormwater. The County is responsible for 930 paved centerline miles and 139 dirt road miles, 367 miles of ditches, 51 bridges, 414 signalized intersections, 265 miles of water lines, 210 miles of sewer lines, 11 water treatement plants, 15 sewer treatment facilities, and a landfill.
LAC is currently in the process of implementing a Maintenance Management System for the County. This is used for assisting the County in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling public works operations. |
