The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) concluded its 2003 Annual Congress & Expo in St. Louis, MO. The October event brought together a record of 605 exhibitors, more than 300 educational sessions and over 8,600 attendees for the industry’s premier education, training and expo opportunity of the year.
Topic: Building Continuous Improvement into a Park Maintenance Operation -
The presentation focused on how the City of Pleasanton took the initiative to review its maintenance organization, defined a strategic direction, and implemented a maintenance system approach to improve the delivery of service to its internal and external stakeholders. The City has shown marked process improvements, including the ability to generate performance-based budgets, track customer requests, and capture substantial performance data to make more informed decisions. |
