System Using Performance Measures
Summary:
In this session, Harry Lorick outlined how performance measures and standards can be applied to Public Works in a real and practical way from both a city manager and consultant's point of view. Harry is a city manager with hands-on background from Public Works prospective and described why and how this tool is used. Harry described experiences and uses in using such tools at various California agencies including small and large cities and counties. The session provided practical ideas of how this can be applied to agencys in a real and useable way as a direction tool for Public Works to not be satisfied with simply meeting a new management initiative.
